About Sam
Hi, I’m Sam!
I am so stoked you’re here!
My mission is to help others overcome the overwhelm, establish a healthy relationship with money, and build a financially empowered life they love.
A Little Bit About Me…
I live in Maryland, and have for my entire life aside from college. I have undergraduate degrees in Statistics and Economics from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.
I love my dogs, volunteering to help other dogs, wellness and working out, sports (Go Hokies! Steelers too), and ice cream, especially cotton candy. I am a personal finance enthusiast and enjoy researching, learning, and connecting with others in this realm.
I bought a house at age 23 and had no debt aside from my mortgage when I got married at age 25. In a 5 year period (2015-2020), my husband and I paid over $150,000 towards a house down payment, our wedding, major home repairs, and debt (not including mortgage payments).
Here is the part I am most proud of: In the same 5 years, we stayed in nearly 20 Airbnbs all over the country, went on a magical honeymoon to Hawaii, traveled to the Netherlands together, added a new four-legged member to our family, and have gone on countless dates! We are able to ENJOY our lives while on our debt free journey.
I am passionate about managing money and helping others. I am also a firm believer in moderation and living intentionally. It is 100% possible to pay off debt while enjoying life.
I feel financially empowered. I want you to establish confidence in your money management too! I KNOW you can, and I want to help!
